Graphical Sideboard with Inlayed Wooden Details and Brass, Italy, 1940s

$4,450
Description

This 1940s Italian sideboard presents a strong example of mid-century design. Constructed from mahogany with ebonized and lighter-toned wood accents, it features a striking composition of inlaid veneers arranged in a graphical layout. The piece includes two side doors and a central flip-down panel, which opens to reveal a bar storage area and an additional drawer. The base, defined by geometric lines, supports the clean structure and adds to the visual rhythm of the design. The sideboard is signed 'Colli' on the back, suggesting a possible connection to Pierluigi Colli, a known designer of the period. This sideboard combines material contrast and structured form, emphasizing both function and visual interest through its veneered surfaces and architectural stance.

Condition: The sideboard recently received a new finish. The interior and base of the sideboard show some age related wear. The rich veneer wood shows signs of age and use which is in line with the age of the sideboard being from circa 1940's.
