This slatted bench was produced in the Netherlands around the 1960s. It is made of solid Wenge wood and features a seat composed of evenly spaced wooden slats. The bench stands on three legs which create an elegant minimalistic repetition. The surface of the Wenge shows a visible grain pattern consistent with the natural characteristics of the wood. The form is linear, and the construction focuses on stability and material efficiency. The dimensions and proportions suggest use as a low seating element or functional surface. The bench reflects woodworking techniques and material use typical of Dutch furniture design during the period.
This bench shows similarities with the bench that was designed by Martin Visser for 't Spectum which was originally designed for 'Stedelijk Museum'
It would also be a great functional piece if one pairs it with custom seat cushions. Please ask us for possibilities for upholstery
Condition: This bench has signs of age and use which is in line with the age of the item. All three legs and the top of the bench have some minor scratches and one small restoration is done on the right of the top. Overall in great condition with some age related wear
We have consciously chosen to photograph all of our items in their current state to present the real original condition as completely as possible for transparency towards our clients.
