Reupholstered Pair of Cubist Slipper Lounge Chairs in Solid Oak, France 1970s

$7,450
Description

Pair of French Slipper Lounge Chairs from the 1970s. The chairs feature solid oak frames with cubist construction and architectural lines. From the back, the waistline of the frame becomes visible, forming a distinctive structural detail. The design is compact, with proportionate seat dimensions that reflect the lounge style without being oversized. Cushions are upholstered in a soft pink fig coloured chenille fabric, tailored to fit within the frame and positioned to underline the geometry of the woodwork. The contrast between the oak and the upholstery adds visual structure without distraction. The chairs reflect characteristics of French design from the 1970s such as Guillerme & Chambron and Maison Regain, focused on clarity of form and material. Joinery is visible and consistent, showing solid craftsmanship. The chairs are in original condition with surfaces that show the natural tone of the oak. This pair of lounge chairs maintains balance between construction and proportion, with emphasis on the rear view where the form becomes more defined.

Condition: The chair has been reupholstered with a quality fig/purple/pink coloured fabric. The frames are showing some subtle traces of wear and are overall in good condition.

We have consciously chosen to photograph all of our items in their current state to present the real original condition as completely as possible for transparency towards our clients.

In case you have any additional questions about the original condition, always feel free to reach out and ask us for additional images. We do also offer services such as restoration and re-upholstery in case this is wished for.
