This Postmodern side chair, made in Italy during the 1970s, features a construction that reflects the material experimentation of the era. The chair combines a patinated steel frame with a stained wood base, offering a mix of industrial and natural elements. The black leatherette upholstery adds a visually unified surface that contrasts with the patinated steel and stained wood, emphasizing the chair’s geometric composition. The silhouette of the chair is distinctive, marked by a curved backrest that supports the spine while maintaining a compact footprint. This piece represents a period in Italian furniture design when bold forms and mixed materials became increasingly prominent.
Condition: The chair is in good original vintage condition showing a strong patina. The chair’s aesthetic appeal makes it more suitable as an accent piece or for spaces where it can be seen as a sculptural piece, however it can also endure heavy use. The construction of the chair is still very good
We have consciously chosen to photograph all of our items in their current state to present the real original condition as completely as possible for transparency towards our clients.
In case you have any additional questions about the original condition, always feel free to reach out and ask us for additional images. We do also offer services such as restoration and re-upholstery in case this is wished for.
