This Italian sideboard from the 1940s features a modern Art Deco design with a geometric square pattern on its four doors. The sides and doors are adorned with stained walnut 'Grissinato' carvings, showcasing a textured pattern. The doors also incorporate walnut burl wood veneer elements, adding a layer of contrast to the overall design. The sideboard is supported by tapered, bent legs, typical of the period's aesthetic. The combination of walnut finishes and geometric detailing creates a visually striking piece suitable for a variety of interior styles. The craftsmanship reflects the elegance and sophistication of mid-20th-century Italian furniture.
During the 1940's many Italian artisans used this 'Grissinato' technique, literally translated to 'Breadstick'. You will find similar details in works by Paolo Buffa, Guglielmo Ulrich, Gio Ponti, Osvaldo Borsani, Pierluigi Colli and many others
