'Roto' Table Lamp Sculpture in Cast Aluminum and Opaline Glass by Giacomo Benevelli, Italy, 1970s
- Description
-
Sculptural table lamp in polished cast aluminum and an opaline glass diffusor. Named 'Roto' by the Italian sculptor Giacomo Benevelli, edited by Gaetano Missaglia, Italy, 1970.
This original 1970s table lamp is composed of two contrasting elements that engage in a dynamic dialogue. The first is a rounded aluminum base, characterised by simple yet robust lines that resemble a protective shell, evoking an organic presence.
On the inside of the sculpture is a glass sphere that diffuses light with a warm glow. The result is a harmonious balance between the cool, solid exterior and the luminous core, embodying the spirit of the sculpture.
This lamp stands as one of the most iconic works of Italian-French sculptor and painter Giacomo Benevelli. His signature use of metal as a primary material, the abstraction of forms, and the integration of light as a key compositional element underscore his status as a leading figure in contemporary abstract sculpture.
Condition: The surface of the table lamp shows some signs of age and use, there are some small scratches. The glass is fully in tact.
We have consciously chosen to photograph all of our items in their current state to present the real original condition as completely as possible for transparency towards our clients.
In case you have any additional questions about the original condition, always feel free to reach out and ask us for additional images. We do also offer services such as restoration and re-upholstery in case this is wished for.
