"Anfibio" sofa bed designed by Alessandro Becchi for Giovannetti Collezioni in 1970s in original leather. The sofa can be unfolded or opened flat, revealing its luxuriously soft sheepskin mattress.
It's history is full of important events and participations. A piece considered a "classic" of Italian Design, interpreting all over the world an example and a synonym of "Made in Italy."
New York, first of all, where it was exposed at the first exhibition of "Design made in Italy," the fair "The new domestic landscape," showing to the American public the revolutionary characteristics of Italian design.
In this occassion, the MoMa itself bought a piece for its permanent exhibition and, in the same year, it was selected and awarded for the prestigious "Compasso d'Oro."
Anfibio sofa is exhibited in 13 museums worldwide.
