Bench or Table in Duo-Tone Wood, Pine and Teak, Sweden, 1970s

$4,200
Description

This Swedish duo-tone bench was produced in the 1970s in pine with teak details. The teak sections are arranged in a linear pattern that recalls the form of a zipper, creating a distinct graphic contrast with the pine. The piece functions as a bench but can also be used as a side table or coffee table, offering flexibility in placement and use. The pine construction shows a pronounced grain that emphasizes the material’s natural structure. Swedish furniture from the 1970s often balanced functional design with material honesty, highlighting durable woods and straightforward joinery. Teak was frequently paired with lighter woods such as pine, producing visual rhythm while maintaining structural stability. This bench reflects the design approach of the period, where simple forms were combined with practical versatility and attention to woodwork detail.

Condition: This bench has some signs of age and use throughout the surface and sides which is in line with the age of the item. both the pine and teak details are in great vintage condition with some age related wear and spots.
