Jean Michel Chaudeurge created this coffee table for Bruynzell Edition in France around 1975. The piece is constructed entirely from solid pine. The design is based on a grid structure formed by interlocking pine slats that create a square frame. The horizontal surface is composed of evenly spaced pine members, providing both support and pattern. The structure is self-supporting, without additional materials or coverings. The form reflects modular design principles from 1970s French furniture, where emphasis was placed on structure, repetition, and natural timber. The pine elements are cut with precision and joined to maintain stability while leaving the construction visible. The table functions as a central element within a living space, offering designers flexibility for integration in interiors focused on natural materials and geometric organization. The piece demonstrates postwar French approaches to design through clear structure, material honesty, and functional proportion.
Condition: This coffee table has signs of age and use which is in line with the age of the item. The slats show minor scratches and some patina. Because it folds it's a bit unstable. Overall in great condition with some age related wear
