Ceramic object produced by Pia Manu, Belgium, circa 1970s. Sculptural ceramic composition composed of vertically oriented cylindrical forms, emphasizing rhythm, mass, and surface texture. The work reflects the experimental and architectural tendencies within Belgian ceramic practice of the post-war period.
Pia Manu was the studio and company name under which Belgian ceramist Jules Dewaele produced his work, associated with a modernist approach to ceramic sculpture in the 1970s.
Condition: The sculpture is in good vintage condition, with a patina which has been created over the last 60 years showing a few minor chips along the edges. More detailed images available upon request.
