Andrés Nagel Entremanos Desk and Chair Akaba, Spain, 1988
- Description
-
Best known for his eclectic paintings and sculptures, Andrés Nagel is a Basque artist, engraver and architect whose work is often reminiscent of Madrid New Figuratism. During his early travels, he met realist sculptor Eduardo Chillida, who greatly influenced his work in terms of subject and technique. Chillida’s focus on the human form and his affinity for forged metals can be felt in Nagel’s subsequent works.
Designed in 1988 for Spanish furniture maker Akaba, this postmodern piece made of steel, wood and chrome is set apart by its anthropomorphic detail.
It is in good vintage condition and the lights are fully functional. There are some scratches in the veneer to the top and drawers. The chair’s leather seat has a very small puncture.

Béton Brut
Béton Brut presents rare, design-led furniture from Europe and Japan. The collection, drawn from over a century of design, coheres around functional art & sculptural forms. Béton Brut comes from the concrete finish used in modernist architecture. It is rational yet organic, just like the collection.
