This sculptural mask comes from the Fang people of Gabon, a group known for refined, elongated forms and minimalist aesthetic. Characterized by its heart-shaped face and strong vertical symmetry, this contemporary piece honors traditional Fang craftsmanship while standing firmly in the realm of modern African art. Estimated from early 2000s, this mask was likely made for decorative or ceremonial purposes and now serves as a beautiful work of art. It comes mounted on a newly made custom iron stand for a modern display—yet can also be detached and mounted on a wall for a more traditional presentation. One of one.
