The geometry of the elliptical top with rounded corners rises above an organic, wavy, and asymmetrical base, where each face offers a new perspective of the whole. As one walks around the table, the sensation emerges of the moment when a spoon is twirled just before the honey falls, as if the form flows from one side of the base to the other.
For the base, strip planking was used, a canoe construction technique that employs strips with male/female semicircular joints. This allows the strips to curve while connecting, resulting in a smooth, homogeneous, and durable surface.
Inspired by the fluidity and viscosity of honey.
