Catrinel Sǎbǎciag
Catrinel moves beyond the object—she shapes encounters. Rooted in her fascination with perception, movement, and the unseen, her work blurs the edges between sculpture, product design, and immersive installation. Through interactive pieces, she makes visible the invisible: magnetic fields, passing time, shifting light—subtle forces that often go unnoticed. In doing so, she reframes the everyday, coaxing the extraordinary from the mundane. In an age of speed and saturation, where stress runs rampant and awe is in retreat, her pieces invite pause. They offer space for stillness, contemplation, and the quiet joy of simply noticing. Moments of beauty that do not demand but suggest—a soft rebellion against the tyranny of rush. Catrinel is known for her nuanced choreography of light. She creates collectible design objects—luminaires, sculptural décor, large-scale installations, and bespoke furnishings—that transcend mere utility. Each work is both technical and tactile: laser-cut precision fused with hand-cast warmth. The resulting forms echo natural phenomena, striking a balance between the engineered and the organic.
