The DCM (Dining Chair Metal) is a masterpiece of 20th-century furniture design, born from Charles and Ray Eames’groundbreaking experiments with molded plywood. This specific 2001 edition features the iconic organic curves of the plywood seat and backrest, contrasted by a sleek, industrial chrome-plated steel frame. A perfect example of the "design for the masses" philosophy, blending ergonomic comfort with a timeless, minimalist silhouette.
The DCM chair was named "Design of the Century" by Time magazine, recognized for its innovative use of rubber shock mounts that allow the backrest to flex with the sitter's movement.
Moderate vintage condition. The wood shows visible wear and patina consistent with its age, including surface scuffs and finish thinning. Frame remains structurally sound with original glides.
