This is a life-size plaster sculpture of a woman. It is composed of plaster, a telephone, plaster-saturated fabric, a wooden chair, and paint. The sculpture is by an unknown artist and was made in the second half of the 20th century. It has signs of wear, paint loss, and a repair to the out-stretched hand.

The Arcades
The Arcades is the collecting project and weekly newsletter of David Lê. Lê holds a PhD from Brown University in the study of religion, focusing on visual and material culture. In 2019 he co-founded the concept store and apparel line, Maiden Name, whose "Objects" section he also curated. He started his newsletter in 2024 to consider "things, broadly construed" and to provide himself with a megaphone to air personal grievances.
