Janni van Pelt G4A Coffee Table, Netherlands, 1950s

$3,245
Description

The almost singular focus of Dutch designer Janni van Pelt (b.1921) centred on a limited and thus rare series of tables in steel and reinforced glass. This square wired glass variation, which sits on delicate cylindrical tapered legs, evokes a functionalism born of the Bauhaus.

The model, named G4, was originally produced by her furniture designer father Bas van Pelt. Later editions were made by Metaform.

Béton Brut

Béton Brut presents rare, design-led furniture from Europe and Japan. The collection, drawn from over a century of design, coheres around functional art & sculptural forms. Béton Brut comes from the concrete finish used in modernist architecture. It is rational yet organic, just like the collection.
