Isabel Alonso

Isabel Alonso

Isabel Alonso is a Spanish designer based in London and a PhD candidate at the Royal College of Art, funded by LAHP. She uses design as a medium to explore cultural practices and ecological concerns, often with a collaborative, research-driven, and experimental approach. Her practice spans furniture, objects, and graphic art, yet she remains drawn to work that redefines these boundaries. Isabel’s work is characterised by narrative, material honesty, and attentiveness to composition. She earned her MA in Design Products from the Royal College of Art with a scholarship granted by the “la Caixa” Foundation. Previously, she studied Industrial Design Engineering and completed a Master’s Degree in Graphic Arts, both at the Polytechnic University of Valencia, Spain. Among other distinctions, Isabel has received the Spanish National Award for Academic Excellence and the Young Talents Home Design Award from Neo2 Magazine. She has carried out her professional activity in Spain, Sweden, and the UK. Some venues where her work has been exhibited include EDIT Napoli, Collectible NY, and ARAM — the latter two through a collaboration with Max Radford Gallery.
