‘Pavilion’ Fauteuil
Noir Métal, 2024
Steel, wheels, 650 x 450 x 650mmNoir Métal was founded in 2020 by French artists Nicolas Bourthoumieux and Julien Dumond. Their collaboration, now based at the Brasseries Atlas in Brussels, initially began at La Cambre, where Bourthoumieux lectured Dumond. Specializing as blacksmiths, they create stately pieces that serve as supports, frames, pedestals, and light fixtures for exhibitions. Their practice is a melding of craftsmanship, design, sculpture, and scenography, in which their tendency to repurpose materials blurs the boundaries between said disciplines.
