Description: The Braun SK2 (1955) is one of Braun's earliest icons of modern industrial design. Developed under the creative direction of Artur Braun and Fritz Eichler, it broke with the ornate, furniture-like appearance of contemporary radios by introducing a clean white metal and plastic enclosure, minimalist controls, and a functional, user-focused layout. This restrained aesthetic marked the beginning of Braun's modern design language and laid the foundation for the principles that Dieter Rams would later refine. Technically, the SK2 is a compact yet powerful tube radio, driven by an EL84 output stage and designed for FM and AM reception, combining outstanding engineering with timeless simplicity. At the Werkstatt, the SK2-25 radio models are fully electronically serviced, carefully restored, and discreetly upgraded with an inconspicuous Bluetooth streaming module, allowing seamless wireless music playback while preserving its original appearance and functionality.
