A unique diptych of cast aluminium botanical reliefs, preserving the delicate stems and leaves of Clematis armandii in metal. Part of an ongoing exploration of botanical preservation, the work translates the ephemeral structure of a climbing plant into a permanent metallic impression. The two panels form a continuous composition, retaining the fine details and natural movement of the original specimen. Daniel Swarilov
Daniel Swarilov is an Austrian artist and maker based in London, working across sculpture, furniture and functional objects. Educated at the Architectural Association, his practice is rooted in material experimentation and traditional craft processes, particularly metal casting and fabrication. Drawing from botanical and geological forms, Swarilov translates ephemeral natural materials into enduring objects, primarily in aluminium and bronze. His work explores preservation, transformation and the relationship between ornament and function, retaining the physical traces of both the original material and the processes through which it is transformed.
