The Symmetry Collection marks Xiong’s introduction to tableware with a porcelain cup, plate, and bowl. Pushing against porcelain’s natural imperfections, the collection aims to achieve perfect symmetry and form, even through the hand of the artisan.
In a world where imperfections are often celebrated, the studio has chosen to challenge the natural flaws of porcelain, striving for symmetry and form in every piece. Each item in the collection is meticulously hand-casted and adorned with elegant patterns—dots, lines, circles or squares—hand painted with precision along the groove at the exact center of each piece. While the patterns may appear simple, the process requires extreme precision. Symmetry also nods to the geometric shapes in our furniture with complementary squares and circles sculpted into each vessel.
