Chaise Vide ('Empty Chair') is an early furniture prototype by the French artist-designer Salomé de Fontainieu (b. 1973).
Typical of Fontainieu's practice, this piece sits at the intersection of sculpture and furniture, prioritising spatial presence over function.
Originally exhibited at the Villa Noailles with Martin Szekely and the same model was acquiredby the (French state’s furniture collection) Mobilier National in 2006.
